Job Description

Summary: Coordinates, budgets and supervises construction projects from start to finish while simultaneously performing trade work. Ensuring projects are completely safely, on time and within budget. This is a working position, which means hands on work is a daily requirement (subject to priority).

  • Hiring of Subcontractors (3 quality bids on file always. Supervisor sign off on any accepted bids is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval).
  • Subcontractor Coordination & Scheduling
  • Ensure all subcontractors have current required paperwork on file.
  • Be fully familiarized and have a full understanding of building plans before starting a project.
  • Scheduling and completion of required permit inspections.
  • Quality Control
  • Deep understanding of framing, carpentry, construction details, techniques, etc.
  • Smart budgeting and planning.
  • Haul trailers as needed.
  • Layout work for laborers, plan ahead for gaps/overflow work.
  • Strong clear communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. spreadsheets, emails, schedules, etc.).
  • Site layout and grades (Supervisor approval required on any layouts and grades is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval).
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Good time management.
  • A lead on misc. projects and tasks.
  • Fill in for other CM as requested/needed.
