Job Description
Summary: Coordinates, budgets and supervises construction projects from start to finish while simultaneously performing trade work. Ensuring projects are completely safely, on time and within budget. This is a working position, which means hands on work is a daily requirement (subject to priority).
- Hiring of Subcontractors (3 quality bids on file always. Supervisor sign off on any accepted bids is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval).
- Subcontractor Coordination & Scheduling
- Ensure all subcontractors have current required paperwork on file.
- Be fully familiarized and have a full understanding of building plans before starting a project.
- Scheduling and completion of required permit inspections.
- Quality Control
- Deep understanding of framing, carpentry, construction details, techniques, etc.
- Smart budgeting and planning.
- Haul trailers as needed.
- Layout work for laborers, plan ahead for gaps/overflow work.
- Strong clear communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (e.g. spreadsheets, emails, schedules, etc.).
- Site layout and grades (Supervisor approval required on any layouts and grades is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval).
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Good time management.
- A lead on misc. projects and tasks.
- Fill in for other CM as requested/needed.
