Construction Project Assistant - Torrance Project - Training Provided

Licensed Santa Monica general contractor is looking for a motivated construction assistant for an upcoming residential addition and remodel in Torrance. This is a great opportunity for someone with some field experience who wants to learn the management side of the business. You will work directly alongside the owner and senior project manager and be trained on how projects actually get run, from plans and scheduling to subs, inspections, and closeout.

If you have been swinging a hammer and want a path toward project management, this is that step.

What you'll be doing

Onsite daily keeping the project moving and reporting status back to the office
Helping supervise crew and subcontractors, confirming work matches plans and scope
Tracking deliveries, materials, and tools
Daily progress photos and written updates
Coordinating site access, cleanup, dumpster and portable toilet service
Flagging issues, delays, and changed conditions early
General assistant tasks in support of the job

What we're looking for

--Some construction experience. You do not need to know everything. You need to show up, pay attention, and want to learn
--Willingness to be taught our systems and our way of running a job
--Able to communicate clearly with crews, subs, inspectors, and homeowners
--Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus
--Reliable transportation, valid license and insurance. The job is in Torrance and you must be there on time every day
--Smartphone for photos and daily reporting
--Professional, punctual, and drama free

What you get

--$30/hour to start, with increases based on performance
