Construction Project Manager

San Jose based Construction Company is looking for full time Project Managers to manage exterior renovation projects for multi-unit family complexes (i.e. condos, townhomes, apartments). Typical projects might include exterior water proofing, decks, railings, siding, trim, new windows, fencing, concrete, painting, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Have at least 2-3 years of managing field construction projects as a superintendent, or have a degree in construction management or have related experience.

All positions will need to accomplish the following:

• Act as a representative and advocate of SVBG's Culture and Guiding Principles
• Follow SVBG process for managing projects
• Potential candidates must have good computer skills and also be able to work with (or learn how to work with) Excel, Project, and Sage Contractor
• Take full responsibility and accountability for assigned projects
• Attend job walks with construction managers and obtain a detailed understanding of the project
• Understand and review plan sets for coordination and completeness
• Help Prepare RFIs and Submittals
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, and qualify proposals
• Understand construction materials and practices for exterior renovations (i.e. siding/trim, decks, waterproofing, windows, doors, balconies, stucco, painting, etc.)
• Ability to work closely with team members to get the job done in a timely and professional manner
• Develop and help submit change orders for jobs in process
• Submit field reports and information to help keep management and team members updated on project status
• Maintain a High level of organization and prioritize jobs and items as needed
• Be a leader and teach others to lead and be self-reliant.
• Ensure all jobs are following company and OSHA safety protocols
• Help to ensure that permits are processed and completed

Ideally, new hires could start as soon as possible.

We are looking for multiple hires in our project manager department. Depending on the level of experience, salaries can range from Compensation based on experience. Company benefits include medical, 401K, bonus and profit sharing plan, vehicle, PTO and cell phone.
