CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Development company with offices in the Los Angeles area now hiring for a full-time Construction Superintendent. Our specialty is multi-family mixed-use buildings of 70+ units in Southern California. We are seeking a motivated, self-starter, capable of being a team player. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, owner representatives, city officials and design/engineering professionals at all levels. We are looking for someone who can forecast potential problems and take initiative in executing time and cost-effective solutions that are beneficial to all parties.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of project schedules and updating of progress construction schedules to coordinate and schedule the activities of construction subcontractors and workers.
• Locate, measure, and mark site locations for placement of structures or equipment.
• Review all drawings, i.e. shop, architectural, structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
• Maintain records for site personnel such as daily field reports, manpower count, field changes and RFIs.
• Inspect progress to ensure all work is completed following building codes and policies, making note of errors or violations and giving instructions to correct them.
• Liaison to inspection authorities.
• Negotiate contracts.
• Maintain daily job site log in accordance to company policy.
• Implement sound procedures on site.
• Manage labor and progress to meet contractual commitments as well as time and cost targets.
• Plan and requisition materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in construction management or construction supervision.

• Must have extensive knowledge of Los Angeles Municipal Codes, International Building Codes and Federal Handicapped Laws.
• Must have completed at least 2 multi-family buildings of 70+ units size and scale from beginning to end.
• Must have extensive experience with concrete structures.
• Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess good understanding of construction site management.
• Problem solver.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Management of personnel resources.
• Certified in construction safety.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Superintendent.
• Experience in Southern California a MUST.
• Computer literate (including smartphones and tablets) with strong computer skills, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project Manager, a PLUS.
• Willing to work overtime.

• Ability to travel locally, proof of CA drivers license, driving record, insurance and registration may be required.
