# Copper Mechanic
**Job Status:** Full-Time
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Overtime and weekends as needed.
Schedule is Mon-Fri, 6 or 7 AM for 8-10 hours per day. Right now, 48 hours/week
**Travel:** Primarily local jobsites
## Position Summary
The Copper Mechanic installs copper piping systems associated with commercial HVAC equipment on new construction and tenant improvement projects. Work includes **brazing, soldering, and welding** HVAC piping systems.
## Essential Duties
- Install commercial HVAC copper piping systems and components.
- Perform **brazing, soldering, and welding** of copper systems.
- Read and work from mechanical and architectural plans.
- Assist with coordinating HVAC installation activities on jobsites.
- Follow required safety procedures and proper installation practices.
- Operate scissor lifts, ladders, and other equipment used for HVAC installation.
- Train and provide direction to helpers as needed.
- Work efficiently to keep projects on schedule.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- **2+ years of related HVAC/copper piping experience.**
- Experience brazing and soldering copper piping.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and architectural plans related to HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of HVAC copper piping systems, components, and functions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel to local jobsites.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and handling of tools and materials.
- Frequently lift and carry up to **50 lbs.**
- Occasionally lift heavier materials as required.
- Ability to safely work from ladders, lifts, and other elevated work areas.
Work is primarily performed on active construction jobsites where conditions may vary daily. The position requires consistent attention to safety, environmental conditions, and jobsite requirements.
