Job Title: Craftsman Powder Coat Technician

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Location: Tucson, Arizona (local applicants only)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coat Technician to join our team. This full-time role focuses on preparing, drilling, sanding and inspecting metal products to ensure a high-quality finished appearance that meets company standards. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. There are also opportunities to cross-train in related areas such as waterjet operations, drilling, and sanding.

During production, you will be responsible for the care of every individual item, arrange finished products for ease of access by the shipping team, monitor machinery, conduct regular quality checks to ensure equipment is operating to required specifications, and assure that all products are carefully manufactured according to specifications. You must be comfortable managing and transporting/lifting large quantities of products with care, working in a manufacturing-related environment, and managing order volume. Dedication and accuracy are crucial, so all candidates must have strong attention to detail and be extremely focused on their work.

This role plays a key part in supporting our production team and ensuring that every product meets the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities:

 Lead Responsibilities (Primary Duties):
o Prepare metal products for powder coating by sanding, cleaning, drilling and hanging parts properly
o Apply powder coat finishes evenly and consistently using electrostatic spray equipment
o Operate curing ovens and monitor temperature and cure times to ensure proper finish adhesion
o Inspect finished products for coverage, texture, color consistency, defects, and overall quality
o Maintain clean and organized spray booth, coating equipment, and work area
o Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and staging finished products
o Follow production schedules and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines
o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on powder coating equipment
o Follow all company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage and chemical handling
o Communicate with production team members regarding quality concerns or production issues

 Backup Responsibilities (Cross-Training / Support Duties):
o Cross-train on waterjet operations
o Perform weekly white and brass powder coat processing
o Handle QuickShip powder coat processing
o Assist with drilling, aluminum sanding, and marking as needed

 Qualifications:
o Experience with powder coating preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
o Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is a plus
o Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
o Comfortable working with hand tools and industrial equipment
o Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace
o Physical ability to handle materials and stand for extended periods
o Team player willing to assist in multiple areas of production
