Position Summary

The Crew Lead serves as the Foreman’s primary support in the field, helping drive daily execution, crew coordination, and jobsite standards. This role acts as the second-in-command and steps into a leadership role when needed. The Crew Lead is expected to lead by example and support safe, efficient, and consistent work — with production as the result of disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership

  • Promote and enforce safe work practices
  • Assist with daily safety discussions and hazard recognition
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately
  • Set the standard for safe, responsible work
Field Execution & Crew Support
  • Assist the Foreman with daily planning and crew coordination
  • Communicate tasks, expectations, and priorities to the crew
  • Lead portions of work when the Foreman is managing other responsibilities
  • Step in as acting leader when needed
Efficiency, Consistency & Results
  • Promote efficient and consistent execution of work activities
  • Maintain steady crew pace and coordinated workflow
  • Reinforce repeatable company techniques and installation methods
  • Identify inefficiencies and reduce downtime
  • Minimize rework through attention to detail and quality
  • Contribute to production through disciplined and consistent execution
Crew Development
  • Help train and guide laborers and operators
  • Reinforce accountability and expectations
  • Lead by example with work ethic and attitude
Equipment & Jobsite Coordination
  • Assist with equipment setup, operation, and breakdown
  • Help maintain jobsite organization and readiness
  • Support material flow and site logistics

Qualifications
  • Experience in construction, drilling, or related field work
  • Knowledgeable in construction safety practices and hazard awareness
  • Familiar with installation techniques, equipment, and field methods
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and initiative
  • Respected by peers and leads by example
  • Interest in growing into a Foreman role

Benefits:

  • As a member of our full-time Field crew, we anticipate that you will typically work an average of 50-55 hours per .
  • As a general practice, you will be paid at the overtime rate of 1.5 AFTER 8 HOURS OF REGULAR WORK DAILY
  • Nine standard holidays.
  • Eligible for Medical & Dental Insurance after 60 days. HELICAL pays 100% OF MEDICAL AND DENTAL and HDI assists in high deductible plan reimbursement.
  • 3 Weeks of Accrued PTO, after 5 years, 4 weeks
  • A 401K retirement plan will start after 60 days. HDI will contribute 3% of your annual pay
  • Hotel Credit AP for any overnight business stays
  • Per Diem for Overnight stays-Single rooms
  • Mileage and rate paid after 20 miles drive time each way
  • Helical is an ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan)
Must be able to pass Drug Screen and DOT Medical Physical, Speak, read and write English.
Work Location: In person all over New England
