Delivery Driver / Customer Service for Established Hardware Store

$20/hour · Employer-paid health insurance · Monday–Friday

Alvarado Paint & Hardware has been serving Los Angeles since 1946. We're family owned, going on 80 years, and several team members have been here 30 years or more. We're looking to add a Delivery Driver / Customer Service Representative to that team.

This is honest, physical work. You'll be lifting, loading, climbing, and on your feet most of the day. When you're not on the road you're on the floor helping customers or in the back stocking. It's not a job you can coast through. We're looking for someone with a real work ethic — someone who shows up on time, sees what needs doing without being told twice, and takes pride in doing it right.

What the job looks like

This is a split role. Part of your day you'll be on the road making vendor pickups and customer deliveries; the rest you'll be in the store helping customers find what they need.

Deliver customer orders on time, handling material with care

Help walk-in customers with product questions and purchases
Stock, organize, and keep the warehouse in good shape between customers
Other duties as directed by the Store Manager
Pay and schedule

$20/hour
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What we're looking for

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

High school diploma or equivalent
Comfortable with computers and basic math
Able to communicate clearly with customers in English, spoken and written
Friendly, punctual, and dependable
Physical requirements

Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, up to 75 lbs occasionally

Standing and walking for extended periods
Kneeling, bending, and climbing stepladders and the stairs to our mezzanine
Helpful, but not required

Bilingual Spanish

Experience with hardware, construction, electrical, plumbing, paint, or warehousing
