FLYHI TRANS INC. is hiring an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician for our Cypress, Texas fleet maintenance operation.

We are looking for a skilled, dependable, and experienced heavy-duty technician who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial trucks, trailers, diesel engines, transmissions, and reefer equipment.

If you have strong hands-on experience with Volvo, Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, heavy-duty transmissions, engine repair, and computerized diagnostics, we want to hear from you!

FLYHI TRANS INC. operates a commercial trucking fleet and is looking for technicians who take pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, safety, and keeping equipment on the road.

This is a full-time, in-person position at our Cypress, TX location.

🔧 WHAT YOU'LL DO
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks
Perform preventive maintenance and fleet inspections
Diagnose and repair diesel engine systems
Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, cooling, and mechanical systems
Perform engine tune-ups, head work, and engine repairs
Perform engine rebuilds — strong experience is a plus
Diagnose and repair heavy-duty automatic transmissions
Perform truck and trailer repairs
Diagnose and repair reefer/refrigeration units
Inspect brakes, wheel-end components, suspension, steering, and related systems
Use computerized diagnostic equipment and software
Perform quality-control inspections after repairs
Identify safety and mechanical issues before equipment returns to service
Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records
Keep the shop and work area clean, organized, and safe
Work independently with minimal supervision
🛠️ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
4+ years of diesel/heavy-duty mechanic experience preferred
Commercial truck or fleet maintenance experience strongly preferred
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Experience with Volvo and Freightliner trucks
Detroit Diesel experience preferred
Heavy-duty automatic transmission experience
Strong diesel engine repair experience
Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and accurately diagnose repairs
Must have your own mechanic tools
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Reliable, responsible, safety-minded, and professional
Able to safely lift, push, pull, climb, kneel, bend, and work in various positions

💰 PAY & BENEFITS
$25–$32 PER HOUR — BASED ON EXPERIENCE & SKILL LEVEL

Highly experienced technicians with strong diagnostic and heavy-duty repair skills may qualify for the top end of the pay range.
