Altman Plants is one of the largest plant nurseries in the country, and our operation runs on iron: tractors, forklifts, backhoes, skid steers, electric carts, and more. We need a hands-on diesel mechanic who takes ownership of the equipment and takes pride in keeping everything moving.
What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of farm and nursery equipment. You'll have variety every day — from routine PMs to tracking down hydraulic gremlins — and you'll see the direct impact of your work on a fast-moving, real-world operation.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines and farm/nursery equipment
- Strong diagnostic skills — you can find the problem, not just replace parts
- Self-directed: you manage your time and your bay
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, not a requirement
- Stable, full-time work with a well-established company (we've been growing since 1975)
- A real shop supporting real equipment — not a desk job
- Competitive pay based on your experience ($20–$24/hr to start)
