Diesel Mechanic

SBJ Services is the repair service provider of all the Class 1 railroads operating in SE Wisconsin. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in truck repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of mechanical issues. This role requires expertise in medium and heavy vehicles, experience or willingness to learn construction equipment, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to our customers. Responsibilities

Perform heavy duty diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
Conduct brake repairs, pm inspections, and other essential maintenance tasks on various vehicles.
Operate heavy equipment safely, including cranes when necessary for vehicle suspension and repair tasks.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and components to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology.
Preform ANSI, DOT, and FRA inspections.
Qualifications

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.

Strong knowledge of diesel systems, including electrical systems, brake systems, and diagnostics.
Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Certification from an accredited diesel program is a plus but not required.
