Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic – Flatbed Fleet
Description
Steady Diesel Mechanics is a fleet shop in Springtown, Texas, and we're looking for one good diesel mechanic to join us full-time.
You'll answer to the owner, not a service manager three layers up. You'll know every truck in the yard by its quirks, and when one of them is down, you're the reason it gets back on the road. If you'd rather work on the same fleet than a different stranger's truck every hour, keep reading.
THE FLEET
Class 8 tractors: [makes/models – e.g., International LT, Freightliner Cascadia]
Flatbed and step-deck trailers
A TYPICAL WEEK
Preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers – oil and filters, greasing, brakes, tires, lights
Chasing down engine, aftertreatment/DEF, electrical, air brake, suspension, and HVAC issues and fixing them right
Trailer work – air systems, brakes, wiring and lights, winches, decking, securement hardware
Hooking up the laptop, pulling codes, and figuring out what's actually behind them
Logging repairs and keeping the parts shelf straight
The occasional road call when a truck needs help where it sits
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
[3]+ years turning wrenches on heavy-duty diesel trucks – fleet, dealership, or independent shop all count
Solid with air brakes, electrical diagnostics, and after treatment systems
Comfortable with laptop-based diagnostic tools
Valid driver's license – a CDL helps but isn't required
ASE or manufacturer training is welcome, but we care more about what you can actually do
Shows up, works without being babysat.
SCHEDULE
Full-time, [Monday–Saturday, day shift, occasional Sunday when the fleet needs it].
