BARK AVENUE IS HIRING AN EXPERIENCED DOG GROOMER!

Looking for a grooming position where you can control your own schedule, work at your own pace, and enjoy a calm, supportive environment? Bark Avenue in Tigard, Oregon, is looking for an experienced groomer to join our team!
We have the clientele to keep you busy! Our grooming appointments consistently book out 2–4 weeks in advance, so you can step into an established client base without having to build your books from scratch.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a confident, experienced groomer who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
5+ years of professional grooming experience preferred, but we're open to considering the right candidate.
Formal grooming training is required, whether through a grooming school, established pet store training program, or reputable online grooming school.
Must be fully trained and capable of grooming independently. This is not an on-the-job training position.
Strong dog-handling skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe, compassionate grooming.
Dependable, professional, and able to contribute to a positive workplace.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques, ensuring a stress-free experience for pets and owners alike
Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming procedures with precision and care
Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss grooming preferences, provide pet care advice, and address any special needs or concerns
Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, demonstrating excellent animal handling skills and patience
Support pet sitting or additional animal care duties as needed to ensure overall well-being of our furry clients
Qualifications
Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of grooming styles and techniques
Knowledge of animal handling, animal restraint, and pet care best practices
Familiarity with veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant background is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
Ability to perform pet nail trimming, bathing, brushing, and styling efficiently and compassionately
Experience with dog training or equine experience is a plus but not required
Passion for animal care combined with excellent customer service skills
