Downtown Santa Fe Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a reliable, organized, personable, and hands on Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of a multi-tenant historic commercial property in Santa Fe. This individual is responsible for general maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems to keep the property in safe and working condition. This is a full-time position with occasional on-call availability for urgent maintenance issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform, in an organized and timely manner, general maintenance and repair throughout common areas and tenant spaces.
Perform basic plumbing repairs (repair/replacement of leaking plumbing fixtures, cleanout of clogged drains, etc)
Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repair and within the scope non-licensed electrical work (electrical outlets, light fixtures and switches, etc)
Perform basic carpentry tasks (minor framing, door/window repair, minor structural repair)
Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance of HVAC systems (filter & belt replacement, thermostat programming/replacement, minor HVAC repairs)
Perform basic patching and repair of roof systems
Installation, patching, repair, and painting of drywall
Evaluate and maintain the property in a presentable and safe condition for tenants and the public (snow/ice removal, minor flooring repairs, graffiti removal, sidewalk washing etc).
Move trash bins and recycle material to and from street curb
Order supplies, handle records and schedule maintenance and repair work
Coordinate with licensed contractors when necessary for advanced electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and construction work
Interface and communicate with tenants in a kind and professional manner.
Maintain and submit accurate descriptions and time records of work performed
Maintain company storage areas and tool inventory in a clean and organized manner
Conduct all work in a safe and responsible manner

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have a high school diploma, and at least 3 years of comparable maintenance experience in a commercial environment.
Must have a valid New Mexico drivers license
Must have an acceptable background check
Basic to intermediate computer skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Tools and equipment are provided
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to safely use necessary tools and equipment to complete job functions
Ability to safely climb ladders and work at height and on exterior roofs.
Ability to work outside in inclement weather, including heat and cold.
