DRAFTING SPECIALIST for Custom Cabinet Shop

Design & Drafting Specialist (Mozaik) — Part-Time — Austin/Hill Country

We are a high-end custom cabinetry and millwork shop serving Austin and the Hill Country. We build complex, architectural-grade work for custom builders, architects, and homeowners who care about craft and detail.

We're looking for a Design & Drafting Specialist to handle our Mozaik shop drawing workload — freeing up our Designer/PM to focus on clients and project management. This is a focused, technical, largely independent role for someone who genuinely knows Mozaik and takes pride in drawings that are accurate and production-ready.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Produce Mozaik shop drawings from architectural blueprints, scaled plans, and field-verified dimensions
Turn owner notes, sketches, or verbal direction into drawings — confirming details before finalizing
Occasional field verification site visits — measure accurately, document clearly
Maintain and update our Mozaik library (door styles, hardware, box configs, finishes)
Flag discrepancies or constructability issues before drawings go to production
Keep an organized, versioned drawing file system

WHAT WE NEED

Proficiency in Mozaik cabinet design software — required, not preferred
Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and scaled floor plans
Detail-oriented and precise
Self-directed — you manage your own workload and communicate proactively
Some background in cabinetry, millwork, interior design, or architecture
Comfortable with occasional field visits

NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Cabinet Vision or similar software

Background working with custom builders, architects, or designers
Familiarity with construction documents / architectural drawing sets
Interest in growing toward a full-time Designer/PM role over time

DETAILS

Part-time, 15–30 hrs/week, flexible schedule around project flow
$22–$30+/hr, depending on experience
Hybrid-friendly — split time in the office / remote work
Clear path to full-time for the right person as volume grows
