About the Role

SBG Builders, a commercial general contractor, is hiring experienced drywall tapers and finishers to tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall to a smooth, paint-ready standard on commercial projects across Orange County. We're looking for skilled tradespeople who take pride in clean, precise finish work and want to grow with a busy, established contractor.

Responsibilities

Prep surfaces by inspecting seams, joints, and corners for defects. Mix and condition joint compound to spec for temperature and humidity conditions. Tape and mud, sealing seams, dimples, and corners with tape and compound. Set and finish corner beads and control joints. Apply finish coats and feather edges to the specified finish level (0–5). Apply full-surface skim coats for high-end, paint-ready walls. Sand between coats, clear dust, and protect the surrounding work area.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as a drywall taper/finisher is required. Candidates should be comfortable working to commercial finish standards and able to travel to job sites as needed.
