Electrical estimator needed

Electrical Commercial company is seeking for an experienced electrical estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects and be comfortable reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and subcontractor/vendor pricing.

Position Responsibilities

• Review electrical plans, specifications, addenda, and project documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical materials, equipment, labor, and installation.
• Prepare competitive bids for commercial electrical projects, including tenant improvements, restaurants, retail, medical/healthcare, office, and ground-up construction.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor/vendor pricing.
• Develop labor estimates based on project scope, installation requirements, and current production expectations.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, design conflicts, and potential scope gaps during the estimating process.
• Review electrical service requirements, feeders, distribution equipment, lighting, power, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, and other electrical scopes.
• Prepare bid proposals and detailed scope breakdowns.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, suppliers, general contractors, and design teams as needed.
• Assist with RFIs and clarification of scope during the bidding process.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify potential change-order opportunities and exclusions during the estimating process.
• Maintain organized bid files, takeoff documentation, pricing, and project records.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
• Assist project management with budget development, buyout, and post-award scope review.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical construction methods and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schedules, specifications, and architectural plans.
• Experience performing electrical takeoffs and developing labor/material estimates.
• Strong understanding of NEC requirements and typical commercial electrical installation practices.
• Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, Planswift, McCormick, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with the project management and operations teams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to attend occasional project/site visits.
