Electrical Foreman

GMEA Electrical Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to lead and supervise electrical crews of approximately 10–20 employees on a large commercial retail project. The Foreman will be responsible for directing daily field operations, coordinating manpower and materials, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely and according to project plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who can communicate effectively, solve problems quickly, hold their crew accountable, and keep the project moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and manage a crew of approximately 10–20 electricians and apprentices.
Plan and coordinate daily manpower, assignments, and workflow.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
Ensure electrical installations are completed correctly, efficiently, and according to project specifications and applicable codes.
Monitor crew productivity and make adjustments to keep work on schedule.
Coordinate with Project Superintendents, Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades on site.
Communicate daily goals, expectations, and project updates to the crew.
Train, mentor, and develop apprentices and less-experienced electricians.
Ensure all employees follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety procedures.
Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy and address issues before they become larger problems.
Identify material, manpower, equipment, or scheduling needs and communicate them to project leadership.
Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, manpower counts, and other required project documentation.
Help coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are properly used and accounted for.
Troubleshoot field issues and provide practical solutions to keep the project progressing.
Hold crew members accountable for attendance, productivity, workmanship, safety, and professional conduct.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
Perform hands-on electrical work when necessary to support the crew and project schedule.
Qualifications

Previous experience leading or supervising an electrical crew.
Proven ability to manage crews of 10–20 employees.
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installations and construction practices.
Ability to read and understand electrical plans and blueprints.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to coordinate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, project management, and field personnel.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet project deadlines.
OSHA safety knowledge and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Journeyman Electrician license preferred, but not required depending on project requirements.
Willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
