Job Summary
The Electrical Wireman/Journeyman will lead a crew in high-end, custom residential electrical
projects such as installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
They will ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Assume all responsibilities as requested in the process of leading a crew
● Contact Management to request any materials needed for the completion of a job
● Stay current with & ensure all work complies with NEC, City of Austin, and Austin Energy
rules & regulations
● Interpret electrical blueprints and schematics
● Actively pursue learning new electrical installations, wiring methods, and Lighting Control
Systems
● Accurately and consistently track any materials used that are marked “extra” on a job
● Keep and maintain any receipts, Time & Material sheets, time cards, etc. for the crew
and deliver to the Office Manager
● Actively engage with and educate any Electrical Apprentice placed under supervision
● Work to keep the morale of crew high, and attempt to resolve any disputes between
crew members, escalating to Management as needed
● Professionally communicate with Project Manager, Builder, Architect, Client, and other
Trades over the course of the project
● Engage and communicate with Management regarding ongoing status and changes
over the course of the project
● Consistently and accurately note details of electrical installations and circuits, as well as
any changes made by Clients or Management on "as-built" prints and pdf files.
● Keep blueprints and pdf files in orderly condition. Inform Management and note any
pertinent information on blueprints and cut sheets that may have been missed by
Architect, Designer, or Management
● Notify Management immediately of any vehicular maintenance or warnings that require
attention
● Always operate company vehicles in a safe and controlled manner, drive defensively and
courteously
● Prepare and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
● Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, codes, and applicable regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
● Ability to read and understand blueprints
● Current TDLR Journeyman or Wireman License
● Valid Driver’s License
● Comprehensive knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes; strong
motivation to remain current on National Electrical Code (NEC), City of Austin, Austin
Energy, City of Dripping Springs, Pedernales Electric Co-op (PEC), and/or any other
national, state, and/or local code, rules and regulations relating to the work to be
performed
● Residential experience preferred, especially high-end custom experience
● Maintain a neat and professional appearance
● Must have tools to complete daily tasks (tool list below)
● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions
● Work environment is outdoors and indoors; includes extreme hot/cold temperatures,
low/bright light, excessive/loud noise, wet environments
● Work in confined spaces and areas not well-ventilated, including under houses and in
attics
● Work at heights, including on roofs with varying angles and climbing/using a ladder and
scaffolds
● Physical requirements include but are not limited to climbing, standing, stooping,
squatting, kneeling, bending, lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds
● Standing for prolonged periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as
grasping or pulling
