Lighting Inverter & Battery Replacement
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrician / Electrical Foreman to lead and execute the replacement of emergency lighting inverters and batteries across multiple facility buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for site evaluations, measuring existing spaces, managing the removal and disposal of old equipment/batteries, and installing approved like-in-kind inverter units.
Key Responsibilities
Site Assessment & Planning: Attend mandatory site visits across project campuses to conduct precise site measurements, evaluate spatial constraints, and confirm fitment for replacement inverters.
Removal & Safe Disposal: Decommission and safely remove existing lighting inverters and battery banks in compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
Installation & Replacement: Install like-in-kind replacement inverters and batteries. Ensure all installations conform to manufacturer specifications and relevant electrical codes.
Material & Equipment Selection: Identify and verify specified replacement models from approved manufacturers (Myers, Isolite, or Dual-Lite).
Quality & Warranty Management: Assist with preparing model numbers, spec sheets, and 2-year/5-year warranty documentation for project submission.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain job site safety, adhere to OSHA guidelines, and oversee standard operating procedures for handling heavy equipment and battery systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensing & Certification: Valid C-10 Electrical Contractor or Certified Journeyman Electrician license.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of commercial electrical experience, with specific expertise in emergency lighting, commercial inverters, UPS systems, and battery storage solutions.
Technical Skills: Ability to read single-line diagrams, site plans, and submittal sheets; expertise in calculating electrical loads and dimensional fitments.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy battery packs and equipment, work in electrical/mechanical rooms, and perform site walk-throughs across multiple locations.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Build America, Buy America (BABA) certified products and submittal documentation.
Prior experience working on public works, school district, or community college facility projects.
