Electronics Repair Technician
Description
Dachman Audio, a growing manufacturer of professional studio condenser microphones, is looking for a skilled electronics bench technician for project-based repair work at our Dover, NJ facility.
We have a batch of large-diaphragm condenser microphones requiring careful troubleshooting, repair, and QC. The work will focus primarily on noise-related issues such as hiss, crackle, intermittents, and other analog audio faults in high-impedance condenser microphone circuits.
Typical work may include:
Diagnosing noise sources in analog microphone circuits
Replacing through-hole components
Replacing JFETs, capacitors, resistors, and related circuit components
Cleaning PCBs to remove flux residue and surface contamination
Reflowing solder joints and correcting assembly issues
Performing occasional capsule swaps or capsule-related troubleshooting
Keeping simple per-unit repair notes and flagging unusual issues
We will provide schematics, replacement parts, test equipment, ESD-safe bench setup, and a documented QC process.
You should have:
Strong soldering and rework skills
Experience diagnosing analog audio circuits; amp repair, pro audio service, synth/pedal repair, or DIY microphone work all count
Comfort working carefully around delicate, high-impedance circuitry
Good ESD-safe work habits
Ability to follow a repeatable repair procedure
Availability for on-site bench work in Dover, NJ
Nice to have:
Familiarity with condenser microphone circuits, including FET impedance converters and polarization circuits
Experience handling microphone capsules
Experience with low-noise analog audio troubleshooting
Your own preferred hand tools, though we have a fully equipped bench available
Details:
Project-based part-time role
On-site in Dover, NJ
Flexible scheduling
Compensation: $40 to $55/hour, depending on experience
Initial engagement focused on a repair backlog, with potential for ongoing work as Dachman Audio grows
