ELM Builders Maui: Construction Company Hiring 2 Full Time Positions

Two Positions available with successful and flourishing Custom Home Builder Company based in Wailuku with projects in Central and UpCountry. Small family style crew, multiple projects and a consistent flow of new projects coming on board.
Looking to hire two experienced crew members in the following categories:

**JOURNEYMAN Carpenter $45.00 HOUR STARTING THEN RISE TO $50.00 WITH POSITIVE 30 DAY PERFORMANCE REVIEW.

**CARPENTER $40.00 HOUR STARTING THEN RISE TO $45 WITH POSITIVE 30 DAY PERFORMANCE REVIEW.

**Carpenter Role Overview:
The Carpenter will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work, collaborating with other trades, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within specifications. This role involves hands-on work and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Work Hours and Breaks

General site work hours: Maximum 8 hour days, Monday through Friday. Adjustments may apply based on project needs, rain out day catch up, etc.
Take regular breaks:
Two paid 10-minute rest breaks
One unpaid 30-minute meal break for any shift over 4 hours.
Additional breaks as required for physically demanding tasks.

Carpentry Tasks:

Assist with framing, finishing, trim and specialized carpentry tasks with precision.
Read and follow basic project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Ensure all work meets ELM Builder’s quality standards.

Take initiative to address challenges and find solutions.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Maintain professionalism and strong work ethic.
Ask for clarity or assistance with a task if you need it, stay learning-oriented.

**Journeyman Carpenter Role overview:
Role Overview
The Journeyman Carpenter will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work, collaborating with other trades, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within specifications. This role involves hands-on work, mentoring junior team members as needed, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carpentry Tasks:
Execute framing, finishing, trim and specialized carpentry tasks with precision.
Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Ensure all work meets ELM Builder’s quality standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with tradespeople, subcontractors, and site supervisors/foreman to ensure project success.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and labourers as needed.
Material Management:
Identify and communicate materials as needed for tasks.
Minimize waste through efficient use of resources.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Use PPE and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Report hazards, near-misses, and incidents to the Site Manager/Foreman immediately.
Site Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Ensure tools and equipment are stored securely and maintained regularly.
