Our Environmental Division supports soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigation and remediation projects for environmental consultants, industrial clients, and property owners nationwide, with strong activity throughout the Western United States, including California.

We are currently hiring Environmental Drilling Laborers / Driller Assistants to support our growing environmental drilling and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations. This role is well suited for both:

• Experienced HDD personnel looking to apply their skills to environmental projects, and
• Career environmental / vertical drillers interested in expanding into HDD and trenchless applications

Ellingson DTD is a national contractor, and nationwide travel is common and a regular part of the work, providing the opportunity to work on diverse projects and subsurface conditions across the U.S.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Environmental Driller or Laborer, you will support crews and projects performing a mix of environmental drilling and HDD work, including:

• Environmental soil and groundwater drilling
• Monitoring well and remediation system installation
• Environmental HDD installations beneath roads, structures, and sensitive or active facilities
• Site setup, utility clearance coordination, and jobsite safety preparation
• Handling drill rods, casing, tooling, and materials
• Mixing and managing drilling fluids and drill cuttings
• Trenching, pipe handling, and general equipment operation
• Daily equipment inspections, housekeeping, and maintenance support

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather, terrain, and site conditions across the U.S. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, kneeling, squatting, and climbing ladders.

Ellingson DTD provides a clear path from laborer to driller,
