Equipment Mechanic

H & J Contracting, Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanic with computer diagnostic abilities and hands-on experience working with a wide range of equipment. If you’re reliable, safety‑focused, and looking for a long-term opportunity, we want to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing:
Turf mowers and landscaping equipment
Engines (gas & diesel)
Construction equipment (loaders, skid steers, trenchers, excavators, etc.)
Engine diagnostics using computer-based tools
Hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical repairs
Requirements
✔ Strong mechanical aptitude
✔ Experience with computer diagnostic software
✔ Ability to troubleshoot independently
✔ Dependable, professional, and safety-minded

• Must have current valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Must have ability to work on own without much direction.
• Must be able to work well with others.
• Must have be able to pass a background check including drug screening and criminal background check.

Applicants with their own tools and available storage for your tools are strongly preferred!

Weekly pay. 40- hour work weeks PLUS Over-Time. Overtime is required and weekend work, as necessary. Health, Dental, Vision insurance and paid holidays available after 90 days, paid time off after one year.
