Equipment Operator

Description

Superior Blasting, Inc. is seeking a full-time equipment operator. By joining our team, we will work continually to balance your skill sets and passions that will contribute to the growth of our company.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate various equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, skid steers, haul trucks, loaders, trenchers, excavators, rock drills, rock crushers, or hydraulic rock hammers
  • Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, and small repairs as needed
  • Adhere to OSHA and MSHA safety policies and follow strict company safety protocols in order to maintain a safe work environment
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment and workers, or falling objects
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Use appropriate equipment to dig off a pile or in a trench
  • Move or haul dirt and rock
  • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed
  • Ability to adjust to a variety of duties and willingness to perform any duties assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous experience operating the equipment mentioned above
  • Valid driver license with no DUIs, and no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work around heavy equipment
  • Pass pre-employment drug test. We have a zero- tolerance drug policy
  • Pass the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) background screening; must be felony free
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, communicate effectively, keep required work schedules, focus attention on detail, and follow work rules
  • Capable of heavy lifting and working in remote, loud, or varying weather conditions
Bonus Qualifications, preferred not required:
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical certificate
  • OSHA 10 and Hazmat certificates
