Equipment Operator — Mobile Wildfire Wash Units, $400–$600/Day (1099)

Oregon Weed Wash LLC operates mobile weed-wash decontamination units on federal wildfire incidents. Equipment coming off the fireline is washed so invasive seed does not travel. You run and maintain a pump-and-generator wash unit in the field.

If you are mechanically inclined and can handle basic field repair, this is steady seasonal work.

Pay is 1099 and fixed, paid individually:

• Qualifying full-size pickup, you drive it: $600/day
• Second operator: $400/day
• No truck — we pair you: $400/day

Expect roughly 12-hour shifts, 14 on and 2 off, with callouts inside 200–300 miles that you can decline. Camp provides tent space, three meals, showers, and laundry. We supply the unit, equipment, and a prepaid fuel card for the pump and generator; you cover truck fuel.

Requirements: 18 or older, valid license, current registration and insurance, basic mechanical ability, and English. Heavy equipment, logging, ag, or construction experience all count. Fire experience is a plus.

We pay you via direct deposit same day that we receive payment. The government says they take 4-6 weeks to process payment, but it often takes about 3 weeks. We ask for interim payment after first two weeks of work and every two weeks thereafter. You will likely see your first payment after about 5-6 weeks of starting work. Checks will come in every two weeks after that until you are fully paid, which will be about 5-6 weeks after your last day of work.
