Gottschalk Construction Inc is seeking an estimator/project manager to join our team. We are a small, family owned company that focuses on residential remodeling, construction, and maintenance projects. We are looking for the right candidate to help grow our company from 2M in revenue to 5M in revenue over the next few years. This job will involve both estimating and project management duties from bidding a project all the way through final completion. We are a high volume contractor with a 90% bid success rate. You will be working alongside the owners of the company that currently perform these duties themselves. We have reached the limit of what we are capable of handling ourselves and are looking to expand.
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of building and construction materials pertaining to residential/commercial remodeling and/or maintenance.
- 1-2 years of estimating is REQUIRED. MUST understand material pricing and construction scopes.
- MUST be computer literate with software applications such as excel, word, etc.
- Experience with construction management software preferred.
- Good organizational skills and time management.
- The ability to understand job scopes and time frames is REQUIRED.
- Maintain client pricing and produce consistent competitive bids.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
- Maintain client relationships through professional communication.
- Valid drivers license
- Perform on site inspections/job walks to determine SOW
- Perform take-offs for ground-up projects
- Prepare construction estimates using our CRM software
- Calculate total job costs using in house labor, subcontractors, materials, etc
- Submit estimates to client, answer questions and make revisions to estimate as needed
- Follow up with owners and sell jobs
- Work closely with scheduling coordinator to get approved jobs on schedule
- Order job materials, schedule subcontractors, and in house labor
- Perform daily check ins with on-site foreman on job progress
- Perform on site job walks with foreman and field technicians to ensure jobs are going according to plan
Overall Duties and Responsibilities:
• Arrive in office in a timely manner.
Main office is located in Temecula, training will be held at the Temecula office. After training period is complete, job duties will be 50% inspections throughout San Diego county and 50% office work. (Possible remote office work)
• THIS POSITION WILL BE PRIMARILY RESIDENTIAL REMODELING, MAINTENANCE, WATER DAM AGE RECON ESTIMATING.
*Reading blue prints is not applicable.
• Must be willing to drive around San Diego county for inspections.
*Mileage will be reimbursed
- Produce detailed scope proposals for residential jobs.
- Send directly to clients and update clients on submittal of estimates as well as any information requested regarding the work or pricing of that work order.
- Attend walk throughs/inspections with our project manager.

Compensation: 50-80k a year depending on experience. *This is an hourly position
