Excavation & Underground Utilities Estimating Software Sales
Hiring working estimators — not career salespeople who want warm leadsIf you have not personally done takeoffs for excavation or underground utilities, close this tab.
We built the only software that can automatically trace all the lines on a blueprint.
The result: takeoffs take about 99% less time, which cuts about 90% of the time owners and estimators spend bidding.
The consequence: they can bid about 3x as many jobs — and do about 3x the revenue and profit.
This is a 1099 independent-contractor role. Commission only. No salary. No draw. No benefits. No paid-ad calendar.
WHO THIS HIRE IS
You have been a professional estimator in excavation and/or underground utilities. You have stared at utility plans, site plans, and profiles until your eyes burned. You already know why bidding is the bottleneck. You are done being the person trapped on takeoffs while the owner leaves money on the table.
We are hiring 2–3 people. You will sell the tool you wish you had on the board.
WHAT YOU ARE SELLING
Software for excavation and underground-utilities contractors that traces every line on the plan and does the takeoff automatically.Pricing the owner pays:
- $1,800/month for the first 3 months
- Then $300/month per $1M in jobs bid
They already know the pain. You are not teaching them what a takeoff is. You are showing them they do not have to lose 90% of the week doing it by hand.
HOW YOU GET PAID
- $500 when you set an appointment that becomes a closed deal
- $500 when you close a deal
- Set and close your own deal: $1,000
- 5% override on accounts you close yourself
How the first 2–4 weeks work
You book appointments onto the owner's calendar. You sit on every one of those calls and watch him close. On those deals you earn the $500 setter fee only — no closer check, no residual. Residuals are only on deals you close.
Residuals
The 5% starts after you have been here 90 days, and only on your own closes. If you quit, residuals stop. Stay 24 months or longer and then leave: they drop to 2.5% and run for half the months you were here (rounded down). Full terms are in the contractor agreement. Do not take this seat if you need residual explained three times.
Nobody is guaranteed 2–3 deals a week. The people who belong here get there because they already speak the buyer's language.
THE JOB
We give you cold leads in this exact niche, the dialer, the CRM, scripts, email follow-up, and mailers that keep the list warm. We do not give you paid-ad appointments. You hunt.A lot of these are one-call closes. The owner already hates takeoff. You have lived that hate.
- Cold call the list
- Follow up by email
- Mailers run in the background
- Minimum 15 sales appointments a week while you are filling the owner's calendar
- Show up to every appointment you set for him
- Take extra calls yourself as soon as you can run the demo
There is about one national excavation / underground-utilities event per month. When you are predictably doing 10+ deals a month, we pay for you to be in the room. Trade-magazine placement comes after the team is producing. Events are a privilege you earn. They are not week-one lead flow.
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
- You have never estimated excavation or underground utilities
- You want inbound ads and a full calendar on day one
- You need a base, a draw, or "training pay"
- You will not sit on the owner's closes for the first 2–4 weeks
- You want a 40-hour estimator job with a sales title
- You send a resume and "I'm interested"
HOW TO APPLY
Do not attach a resume. Do not write "I have a sales background."Reply to this post with exactly these 6 lines:
Name:
City / time zone:
Estimating background: excavation, underground utilities, or both — and years
What you bid: one line (pipe, structures, sitework, wet utilities, etc.)
Last company type: contractor / engineering firm / other, and typical job size
Why sell this instead of keep estimating: 2–3 sente
