Description

As an “Excavator Operator” for Universal Land Construction, our ideal candidate operates our CAT excavators in Custom/Luxury Home Excavation & Grading Operations. We operate CAT & DEERE excavators in hard dig, hillside/slope and horizontal custom home site excavations. Our ideal candidate has experience working on large and small jobsites. Your excavator experience includes clear & grub operations, basements, stepped foundations, footing excavations and safely loading trucks. You are experienced excavating trenches for sewer services, water lines, storm drains & catch basins. The ideal candidate can read survey grade stakes and find grade by visual reference. We are seeking excavator operators that have experience in CAT and/or DEERE GPS fitted excavators from 10,000lbs up to 100,000lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to Speak, ‘Read & Write in English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform the essential duties of this position, including understanding safety instructions, jobsite directions, work assignments, warning signs, and communicating with the owner, supervisors and coworkers.
  • 4 years minimum experience operating EXCAVATORS preferred. Working knowledge of construction equipment required.
Licenses or Certifications Needed:

  • Valid Driver's license.
  • GED or High School Diploma minimum.
  • Dust Control Card, Competent Person and/or OSHA certification preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to safely enter and exit equipment by ladder or step with 3 points of contact at all times.
  • Willing to work daily Monday through Friday
  • Must have reliable transportation. Most of our work is from Desert Mountain/North Scottsdale and in Paradise Valley.
  • Ability to work from 5 a.m. through 5 p.m. and if a project requires, possibly weekends (sometimes long hours).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test, employee orientation and dust card certification.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zones, around obstacles and other heavy equipment onsite.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.   • Ability to be multi-dimensional and add value by having experience in CAT or DEERE Loaders, Dozers and Skip Loaders/Gannon’s.

  • Wages start @ $35-40/Hour and increase with proven experience. Future raises are merit based.
