Experienced All-Around Handyman / Property Maintenance – Ongoing Work

We are looking for a reliable, experienced all-around handyman/property maintenance person for ongoing work at residential properties in the Topanga area.

We need someone who is genuinely handy, resourceful and comfortable handling a wide variety of everyday maintenance and repair needs, including:

• Basic plumbing repairs
• Carpentry and wood repairs
• Minor electrical/fixture work
• Doors, locks, hardware and adjustments
• Drywall, patching and touch-ups
• Installing/replacing fixtures and miscellaneous items
• General repairs, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Small projects and miscellaneous maintenance that comes up around a property

We’re looking for someone who can assess a problem, figure out what needs to be done and handle most general repairs without extensive supervision. We also need someone who understands when a job is outside their scope and requires a specialized trade.

Ongoing Work + Larger Projects

This is not a full-time position, but there is potential for regular and ongoing work for the right person. We have multiple properties and projects and would really like to establish a long-term working relationship with someone dependable.

Most general maintenance and smaller repairs would be handled on an hourly basis. When larger projects come up, there will also be opportunities to provide an estimate or proposal and complete the work at an agreed project rate.

Availability & Responsiveness

Availability and responsiveness are important. Our goal is to respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours whenever possible, so we are looking for people who generally have some flexibility in their schedules and can make themselves available as needs arise.

We are building a small team of reliable maintenance people and tradespeople so that we can provide our tenants and properties with a high level of service. We don't expect any one person to be available for every call, but we do want to work with people who are responsive, dependable and interested in becoming one of our regular go-to contacts.

What We're Looking For

You should have your own reliable transportation and your own basic tools. Good communication, reliability, honesty and the ability to work independently are very important.
Licensed and insured where applicable is preferred. Please let us know what licenses and/or insurance you currently carry, if any.

Compensation:
$25+/hour, depending on experience, skill level and the type of work being performed.
We are looking for someone interested in ongoing work at a fair, consistent hourly rate rather than one-time contractor/service-call pricing. Larger projects may be separately estimated and completed at an agreed project rate.
