EZT Auto & Transmission Repair in Wasilla, Alaska is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team and work on-site, reporting directly to the Lead Technician / Service Advisor. Our shop specializes in preventative maintenance, drivetrain service, transmission work, brakes, suspension, and tune-ups for cars and light trucks. We take pride in solving the kinds of mechanical problems other shops often pass on. We are looking for a technician who already knows their way around vehicles, can work independently, and brings a strong existing skill set to the shop.

What You’ll Do

Diagnose vehicle issues using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and hands-on mechanical inspection
Perform preventative maintenance services including fluid changes, filters, tune-ups, and general vehicle servicing
Complete drivetrain, brake, suspension, and mechanical repair work on cars and light trucks
Perform transmission-related services and component replacements as required
Safely lift and inspect vehicles while identifying mechanical issues and recommended repairs
Follow repair procedures using shop manuals, diagnostic resources, and professional judgment
Work efficiently to complete jobs from start to finish while maintaining high workmanship standards
What You Need

Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on automotive repair experience in a professional shop environment or completion of an accredited automotive technical program
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record insurable by the company’s auto insurance provider
Ability to safely lift and work on vehicles using shop equipment and lifts
Ability to diagnose mechanical and drivability issues using professional diagnostic equipment
Must supply and maintain a comprehensive set of professional automotive tools appropriate for an experienced technician
To ensure technicians can work efficiently and independently, applicants must possess a comprehensive personal tool set

Compensation

Annual earnings typically range from $55,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, skill level, and productivity. Starting pay and compensation structure will be discussed individually
Confident flat-rate mechanics are strongly encouraged to apply. At EZT, our performance-based pay structure rewards productivity—top technicians have the opportunity to significantly increase their earnings based on efficiency and output.
