Experienced Automotive Locksmith position

Looking for an experienced Automotive Locksmith / Key Programming Technician to join our team.

We are looking for someone who already has solid automotive locksmith experience and can handle jobs independently. This is not an entry-level position. We want a technician who understands modern vehicle security systems, key programming, diagnostics, and all-keys-lost situations.

Responsibilities

Automotive key cutting and programming

All Keys Lost (AKL) jobs
Add-a-key programming
Smart/proximity key programming
Transponder key programming
Vehicle lockout and key-generation work
Immobilizer and anti-theft diagnostics
Module replacement/programming when required
EEPROM/MCU work is a major plus
Troubleshoot difficult key-programming and immobilizer problems
Work on domestic, Asian and European vehicles

Experience We’re Looking For

Applicants should have hands-on experience with several of the following:

Autel IM608 / IM508

VVDI / Xhorse equipment
Smart Pro / Advanced Diagnostics
OEM diagnostic and programming software
NASTF procedures
EEPROM and immobilizer data
Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti
Mercedes-Benz, BMW/MINI and European vehicles
CAN-bus and basic automotive electrical diagnostics

Experience with advanced Mercedes/BMW immobilizer systems, EEPROM/MCU programming, module cloning and difficult AKL situations is especially valuable.

Requirements

Minimum 2+ years professional automotive locksmith experience preferred
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Professional appearance and good customer-service skills
Able to diagnose problems instead of simply relying on automated programming procedures
Reliable and able to work independently
Must have strong knowledge of automotive keys, remotes, smart keys and immobilizer systems
NASTF/VSP credentials are a major plus

Compensation

$30–$40+ per hour depending on experience and skill level

Additional commission/production incentives available for the right technician.

We are willing to pay more for a highly experienced technician who can independently handle advanced automotive locksmith and programming work.
