Experienced Automotive Technician - Includes SIGN ON BONUS

The Role

An established independent automotive repair shop on Oahu is seeking an experienced, motivated technician to join our busy crew. You'll work in a fast paced environment handling a variety of repairs across makes and models and we need someone who thrives under that pace. The ideal candidate is efficient, versatile and comfortable working across a wide range of makes and models. **Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates from the mainland or neighboring islands.**

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose and repair a variety of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, and electrical
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections—oil changes, fluid services, tune-ups, safety checks
• Use diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
• Handle drivability and check-engine diagnostics across domestic and import vehicles
• Perform electrical and HVAC/AC repairs as needed
• Maintain accurate repair orders and service records
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Collaborate with the team and support smooth shop operations

What You Need to Qualify

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a general automotive technician
• Proven ability to work efficiently across a variety of repairs, not just one specialty
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across engine, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Proficiency with automotive scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and hand/power tools
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Solid knowledge of domestic and import makes and models
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage a full workload
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Nice To Have

• ASE certification(s) highly desired
• Trade school or automotive technology certification a plus
• Own set of basic tools preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
