Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
Saturday: Mandatory make-up day when scheduled due to weather delays or production interruptions.

Groome’s Brick & Foundation is an established masonry and foundation repair company serving Hampton Roads and surrounding communities since 2015.
We specialize in brick repair, masonry restoration, repointing, lintel replacement, brick steps, porches, and structural masonry repairs.
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly skilled brick mason who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, understands production efficiency, and is committed to long-term employment.
This is not an entry-level position. We need someone capable of independently performing professional masonry repair and restoration work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial brick repair and restoration.
- Remove and replace damaged or deteriorated brickwork.
- Perform repointing, tuckpointing, and mortar joint restoration.
- Remove and replace steel lintels.
- Construct and repair brick steps, porches, columns, and other masonry structures.
- Match existing brick, mortar colors, textures, and joint finishes.
- Read and understand project scopes and installation specifications.
- Troubleshoot masonry issues and communicate concerns to project management.
- Safely operate masonry saws, grinders, mixers, and other equipment.
- Perform elevated masonry work using properly installed scaffolding and required safety equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites.
- Complete projects efficiently without compromising workmanship or safety.
- Proven professional brick masonry experience, specifically in repair and restoration.
- Ability to complete skilled masonry work independently.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Photos of previous masonry projects required for consideration.
- Reliable transportation to the designated company meeting location.
- Strong understanding of masonry materials, methods, and installation techniques.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and communication.
- Availability to work the established company schedule, including mandatory Saturday make-up days when scheduled.
- Professional attitude, accountability, and willingness to follow company procedures.
Tuesday–Friday: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
Four 10-hour shifts, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break when fully relieved of duties.
Saturdays are mandatory make-up days when scheduled due to weather delays or other production interruptions.
Employees are expected to arrive on time, prepared to work, and maintain consistent attendance.
All hours worked are compensated in accordance with applicable wage and overtime laws.
Company-Provided Equipment & Transportation
Groome’s Brick & Foundation provides employees with the equipment and resources necessary to perform their assigned work.
- Company trucks provided for transportation between job sites and work-related travel throughout the workday.
- All necessary masonry tools and equipment provided by the company.
- Access to company-provided saws, grinders, mixers, ladders, scaffolding, and other job-specific equipment.
- Materials and equipment coordinated through project management.
- Established project scopes and organized scheduling.
Employees must have reliable transportation to the designated company meeting location.
Compensation & 60-Day Introductory Period
All newly hired masons begin at $23.00 per hour for an initial 60-day introductory period.
Following this period, employees receive a formal performance evaluation and may qualify for an hourly wage increase within the $23.00–$27.00 range.
Performance evaluations consider:
- Workmanship: Quality, accuracy, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
- Production: Ability to complete assigned projects efficiently without compromising quality.
- Attendance: Reliability, punctuality, and consistent availability.
- Independence: Ability to perform repairs and restoration with minimal supervision.
