Experienced cabinet and furniture maker — Brooklyn Navy Yard

Karol Cylwik Furniture and Millwork is looking for an experienced cabinet and furniture maker to join our small Brooklyn shop producing high-end custom furniture and architectural millwork.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in precise, well-executed work and wants to continue developing their craft as part of a team.

You should be able to:

• Read shop drawings and work accurately from dimensions.
• Build and assemble custom cabinetry and furniture.
• Work with solid wood, plywood, and veneered materials.
• Safely set up and operate standard woodworking machinery.
• Fit doors, drawers, and cabinet hardware.
• Prepare work carefully for finishing and check its quality throughout production.

Attention to detail is essential, including grain selection, joinery, consistent reveals, clean assembly, and surface preparation. You should be comfortable handling assigned work independently, coordinating with others, and asking questions when a detail needs clarification.

Professional experience in custom cabinetry or furniture making is required. Installation experience is a plus.

To apply, reply with your name, phone number, availability, and a brief work history. Include photos of projects you’ve worked on and explain which parts you personally built.
