CABINETMAKER — Custom Architectural Woodwork

Description

O.B. Williams has been building custom architectural woodwork in Seattle since 1889.

We are seeking one experienced cabinetmaker with strong custom cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience to join our team.

This is not production cabinet work, and this is not an entry-level position.

Our projects include custom cabinetry, architectural paneling, doors, mouldings, curved and radius work, CNC-supported fabrication, and one-of-a-kind residential and commercial interiors. Every project is different and requires craftsmanship, precision, and problem-solving.

The ideal candidate can independently build from shop drawings, solve problems in the shop, and consistently produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry and architectural millwork

Work independently from detailed shop drawings

Read and interpret architectural woodwork shop drawings

Coordinate with CNC, Rough Mill, Door & Frame, and finishing departments

Perform precision fitting, assembly, and problem-solving

Operate professional woodworking equipment safely and efficiently

Maintain high quality standards with minimal supervision and rework

Take ownership of workmanship, efficiency, and final product quality

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years professional cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience

Strong ability to read and work from shop drawings

Experience with custom architectural millwork, residential cabinetry, or commercial architectural woodwork strongly preferred

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Reliable, organized, and self-motivated

Able to work independently while contributing to a team environment

Professional production cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience is strongly preferred. Furniture making, woodworking education, or hobby experience alone may not align with the requirements of this position.
