Description
Execute all rough, framing, renovation, and finish carpentry work in strict accordance with local building codes, safety regulations, and architectural layouts. Ensure structural integrity and exact tolerances on every phase of the build.
Review project scopes, layouts, and specifications independently. Anticipate material needs, sequence tasks logically, and drive progress forward on vacant units or active job sites without requiring constant oversight.
Act as a collaborative, clear, and courteous point of contact on-site. Translate technical construction details into understandable terms for clients or residents, manage sub-contractor hand-offs smoothly, and foster a positive, professional environment.
Perform precise layout, framing, drywall coordination, window/door installations, cabinetry, detailed trim work, flooring adjustments, and customized millwork. Painting and Mudding ++++
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace at all times. Mentor and provide constructive guidance to apprentice carpenters or laborers when necessary.
Familiar with electrical and plumbing principles.
Required Qualifications & Skills
A minimum of 7 years of professional carpentry experience spanning residential renovations, multi-family updates, or commercial builds.
Comprehensive knowledge of building materials, advanced framing methodologies, finish techniques, and modern structural standards. Elite-level ability to read and interpret intricate plans and technical schematics.
Deep familiarity with regional building codes and OSHA safety standards; a proven track record of passing structural inspections flawlessly on the first inspection.
Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills, with a demonstrated ability to resolve on-site conflicts, coordinate with tenants, or address client concerns diplomatically.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable, insured personal transportation.
Must own a complete inventory of standard professional carpentry tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Union Experience: Prior membership or formal training within a recognized carpentry union (e.g., United Brotherhood of Carpenters) is a highly valued asset and a strong plus.
Certifications: OSHA 10/30 certification or specialized framing/scaffolding certifications are highly desirable.
