Experienced Couture Seamstress / Tailor – High-End Gowns & Alterations

Laura Basci Inc., a couture studio specializing in custom gowns for red carpet events, high-end couture, and luxury alterations, is seeking a highly experienced Couture Seamstress/Tailor for full-time or part-time work at our Studio City atelier.

We are looking for an accomplished sewing professional with extensive experience in couture garment construction and high-end alterations. The ideal candidate takes great pride in craftsmanship, understands luxury fabrics and finishing techniques, and can execute precise, beautiful work in a professional, deadline-driven environment.

This is a hands-on sewing and tailoring position, not a fashion design position. Professional sewing/tailoring experience is required.

Responsibilities:

Perform high-end alterations on couture, eveningwear, bridal, and luxury garments
Construct garments from start to finish
Perform precise machine and hand sewing
Work confidently with delicate and luxury fabrics, trims, embellishments, beading, draping, cutting, and pattern adjustments as needed.
Maintain exceptional standards of construction, fit, and finishing
Work collaboratively with our team to meet deadlines and client expectations

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of professional sewing/tailoring experience preferred
Extensive experience in high-end garment construction and alterations
Strong knowledge of sewing, cutting, fitting, and couture finishing techniques
Experience working with delicate and luxury fabrics
Bridal, eveningwear, or couture experience strongly preferred
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a very high standard of quality
Dependable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a small professional team

Occasional weekend availability may be required
Pay: $27–$35 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill level
