Experienced Electrician Foreman – Ready to Move Into Project Mgmt
Contruction Project Manager
Description
Experienced Electrician / Construction Foreman – Ready to Move Into Project Management?
Westwood, NJ (Bergen County)
Compensation: $65,000–$80,000, based on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Position: Electrical Construction Project Manager
Location: Primarily Office Based with Jobsite Visits
Ready to Hang Up the Tool Belt, But Not Ready to Retire?
You've spent years in construction. You know how jobs are supposed to run, how to coordinate manpower, what happens when materials don't arrive, and how quickly a project can go sideways when nobody is paying attention.
Maybe you're an experienced electrician, foreman, service manager, or construction superintendent who's ready to transition out of the field and into a management role. We may have exactly the opportunity you're looking for.
We are a growing electrical contracting company based in Westwood, NJ. We're looking for an experienced construction professional who understands the trades and has the organizational skills to manage multiple active projects from our office.
We're not looking for someone to swing a hammer or pull wire. We're looking for someone who knows what it takes to get the job done, and can make sure it happens.
What You'll Be Doing
Once a job is awarded and turned over to you, you're responsible for keeping it moving through completion.
Your day will involve:
Coordinating electricians, technicians, manpower, and daily work schedules.
Reviewing job scopes, drawings, and material requirements.
Ordering electrical materials and coordinating deliveries.
Communicating with customers, general contractors, vendors, and field crews.
Managing multiple active projects and keeping track of where each stands.
Reviewing daily field reports and tracking work completed.
Coordinating inspections, change orders, punch lists, and project closeouts.
Visiting local jobsites when necessary to review progress.
Identifying problems before they become emergencies.
Making sure nothing gets forgotten, overlooked, or left unfinished.
This is a hands on management position, not a hands on tools position.
Who Would Be a Great Fit?
We would especially like to hear from:
Experienced electricians looking to transition into management.
Electrical foremen or lead mechanics who have managed crews and projects.
Construction superintendents or field supervisors.
Electrical service managers or operations coordinators.
Experienced tradespeople from HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or related construction fields.
Current project managers who prefer working for a smaller, growing contractor.
You don't need a college degree or a fancy corporate title.
You do need to know construction, understand how jobs get done, and have the discipline to keep everything organized.
Here's the Important Part
Field experience is valuable, but this position requires more than knowing the trades.
You'll be working primarily from our office, coordinating multiple projects, communicating with customers, and keeping accurate records.
You must be:
Organized: You can keep track of 10–15 moving jobs without losing sight of the details.
Computer Proficient: Comfortable with email, electronic documents, spreadsheets, and learning project management software.
A Strong Communicator: Comfortable speaking with customers, vendors, electricians, and general contractors.
Accountable: If something is assigned to you, you own it until it's finished.
Proactive: You don't wait for someone to ask why a job isn't moving. You're already working on the solution.
Detail-Oriented: You understand the importance of documentation, follow-up, and accurate job records.
Comfortable Multitasking: You can change gears throughout the day without losing control of your responsibilities.
We use modern software and systems to manage our projects. You don't need to know our specific programs, but you must be comfortable working on a computer throughout the day.
