Experienced Excavator / Heavy Equipment Operator on Ranch

We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to assist with road construction, trail building, pad grading, land clearing, and infrastructure development on a large mountain ranch property on Oahu.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment in challenging terrain, and taking pride in building high-quality access roads and trails.

Responsibilities:

Operate excavators safely and efficiently in steep and varied terrain
Construct and maintain ranch roads and recreational trails
Grade building pads, parking areas, and other site improvements
Remove vegetation, debris, rocks, and fallen trees
Install and maintain drainage features, culverts, and erosion-control measures
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications
Work closely with ranch management to complete projects safely and efficiently

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of excavator operating experience (more preferred)
Proven experience building roads, trails, and graded pads
Experience working on agricultural, ranch, forestry, or construction projects
Understanding of drainage, erosion control, and slope stabilization
Ability to operate equipment safely on uneven and steep terrain
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

Bulldozer, skid steer, tractor, or loader experience

Forestry mulching or land-clearing experience
CDL license
Welding, mechanical, or equipment repair skills
Experience working in Hawaii's terrain and weather conditions
