# Experienced Fence Installer / Working Foreman — $30–$40/hr — Full Time (San Jose West)

**Job title:** Fence Installer / Working Foreman
Family-owned fence company hiring an **experienced fence installer / working foreman** to lead a new 3-person installation crew. We have steady residential work throughout the South Bay and Lower Peninsula, and we're looking for someone who can run jobs efficiently, solve problems in the field, and deliver high-quality work.
## PAY, SCHEDULE & BENEFITS
- $30–$40/hour depending on experience and skill level
- Full-time — primarily Monday–Thursday, **paid for 5 days**
- **2-week paid company shutdown in December**

- Lead a 3-person fence crew while working alongside them
- Run projects from layout to completion to company standards
- Lay out fence lines, post locations, grades, and elevations
- Set posts accurately in concrete
- Build wood fences, gates, returns, and custom sections
- Perform post replacements and fence repairs
- Keep fences straight, level, consistent, and professionally finished
- Manage materials and jobsite organization
- Direct and train crew members
- Communicate professionally with customers when needed — quality workmanship is the priority
- Keep projects on schedule and maintain a clean, safe jobsite
- 3+ years of professional fence installation experience (**required**) or strong carpentry/construction background
- Able to independently lay out and build a fence project start to finish
- Strong wood gate construction and hanging skills
- Comfortable with redwood and pressure-treated lumber
- Experienced with saws, augers, demolition tools, nail guns, levels, string lines, and standard construction equipment
- Able to handle grade changes and troubleshoot jobsite conditions
- Able to lead others while staying hands-on
- Able to safely lift and handle fencing materials throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to our meeting location/job sites
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
We need more than a supervisor. You should be comfortable grabbing tools, setting posts, and building panels and gates alongside the crew — while owning the layout, quality, productivity, and correct completion of every job.
Previous experience as a **fence foreman, lead fence installer, lead carpenter, or experienced fence builder** is highly preferred.
