Experienced Finish Carpenters Needed | Custom Fabrication Projects

Very LLC is a San Diego-based fabrication and production studio specializing in custom environments, branded activations, pop-ups, displays, and experiential builds.

We are seeking experienced finish carpenters for upcoming project-based work in our San Diego fabrication shop. This independent contractor opportunity is best suited for skilled craftspeople who work accurately, communicate reliably, and take pride in clean, detailed construction.

Scope of Work

• Finish carpentry and detailed custom fabrication
• Build and assemble walls, displays, cabinetry, scenic elements, and custom structures
• Read measurements, drawings, and build plans
• Work with plywood, MDF, hardwoods, laminates, and other finish materials
• Perform accurate cutting, assembly, sanding, and finishing
• Safely operate shop equipment, power tools, and hand tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Coordinate with project leads and other fabricators
• Assist with installation when included in the project scope

Qualifications

• Professional finish carpentry, cabinetmaking, scenic fabrication, or custom-build experience
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to interpret measurements and basic build drawings
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Reliable communication and transportation
• Comfortable working in an active fabrication-shop environment
• Welding and painting experience is a plus
• Photos or examples of previous work required

Project Details

Location: Miramar

Start date: August 3, 2026
Estimated duration: Through at least mid-October, with the possibility of extension
Typical hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Engagement: Project-based independent contractor
