Experienced Full Time Gardener

Seeking an Experienced Fine Gardener for a full-time (M-F 7am–3:30pm) on-site position based in a private garden in Marin County, CA. This role is responsible for daily landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and seasonal clean-ups to ensure gardens are maintained in a healthy and visually appealing manner. Work will include mowing, blowing, irrigation system installation, monitoring plant health, identifying and treating plant pests and diseases. Day-to-day work will also support maintaining the integrity of the garden design, including preparation of planting beds, installing plants per direction, and maintaining hardscape features as required. The position involves regular interaction with property owners, contractors and other team members, requiring adherence to good safety practices and protocols while ensuring work meets the highest quality standards. Position reports to Director of Landscape.

Qualifications:

• Strong skills in Gardening and Landscape Maintenance, with hands-on experience caring for a variety of plants and garden environments.
• Proficiency with both gas and battery-operated garden equipment.
• Experience with Irrigation systems, including installation, adjustment, programming, troubleshooting, and efficient water use.
• Knowledge of plant care, soil health, pest and disease identification, and sustainable gardening practices.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate with supervisor and property owners.
• 3 years previous professional experience as a gardener, landscaper, or related role; local San Francisco or Bay Area experience is a plus.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Reliable transportation to the job site and flexibility to work regular daytime hours, with occasional schedule adjustments as project needs or conditions may require.
