Experienced Journeyman Carpenter – Remodels / Multi-Trade

Large, established construction company is looking for an experienced, well-rounded Journeyman Carpenter to join our Building Services Department.

This position is on the service and remodel side of a larger building company. The majority of the work consists of smaller construction projects, repairs, renovations, and remodels, although you may occasionally be pulled onto larger construction projects to assist our main crews.

This is not a basic handyman position. We are looking for an experienced carpenter who can walk into a project, assess what needs to be done, and independently complete a wide variety of construction and remodeling work from start to finish.

Typical projects can include complete kitchen and bathroom remodels, repairs, tenant improvements, punch-list work, and other building service projects.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Rough and finish carpentry
• Framing and structural repairs
• Cabinet installation
• Countertop installation
• Kitchen and bathroom remodeling
• Doors, trim, baseboard, and finish work
• Flooring installation and repairs
• Drywall installation, patching, and repair
• Interior and exterior painting
• Light plumbing, including sinks, faucets, toilets, valves, and fixture replacements
• Light electrical work, such as replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, and similar items where legally permitted
• General construction troubleshooting and repair work

You should be capable of taking a project from demolition through completion and have the experience and judgment to know when a licensed specialty trade needs to be brought in.

REQUIREMENTS

• Several years of professional construction and carpentry experience
• Journeyman-level carpentry skills
• Must have your own complete set of tools necessary to perform the work
• Must have a reliable work truck capable of transporting tools and materials
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work across multiple construction trades
• Ability to keep a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable interacting with customers, homeowners, subcontractors, and other company personnel
• Willing and able to occasionally assist our larger construction crews when needed
