We seek a Landscape Installation Team Member to join our crew, which works 4 days per week. Our schedule is from 8-4 Tuesday through Friday, no weekends. This is a year-round position. It pays $27-29/hour depending on experience, which we will assess based on your resume and a paid working interview. If you are highly experienced, please feel free to share a photo portfolio of your work! With ample experience and readiness for leadership, we would hire you at the top of this wage scale with a quick path to promotion. Installation Leads-In-Training make $30, and Installation Leads start at $31+.
We're looking for someone with basic proficiency installing both natural stone and paver patios and pathways, retaining walls, plants and mulch, drip irrigation, and simple carpentry such as raised beds. Once you are up to speed with our systems and preferences and are ready to lead and train others, we would love to promote you to leadership.
Note: in between projects, you will sometimes be scheduled to work on the garden maintenance crew. We hope to find someone flexible enough that this would be an enjoyable part of the job!
Qualifications:
- Understand how to safely use landscape construction tools such as sod cutters, jackhammers, basic carpentry tools, plate compactors and other landscape construction tools. (We do not do any major earthworks.)
- Be positive, dependable, and detail oriented
- Have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Have excellent communication, organization and writing skills
- Have the physical strength to lift 75 lbs throughout the day, and a love of being outside in all weather
- Have a high level of awareness with regard to physical safety and ergonomics. The ideal candidate has the wisdom to practice a strength and flexibility routine outside of work
- Have a reliable vehicle for transportation to jobsites, and a smartphone for accessing our calendar and other tools
- Be located in Seattle or nearby, so that you are able to be on time each day
- Have the temperament and qualities for leading and training others
- Paid sick time
- Yearly $500 clothing/ tech stipend after 90 days
- Health, dental, vision and life insurance after 90 days; the company covers 50% of your premiums
