EXPERIENCED METAL FABRICATOR/WELDER/INSTALLER

EXPERIENCED METAL FABRICATOR / WELDER – $18–$25/HR – BUDA

Established custom ornamental iron company is hiring an experienced metal fabricator/welder for our shop in Buda, Texas.

We specialize in high-end custom architectural metalwork. Our projects include modern and ornate railings, walk-through and driveway gates, steel stairs and stringers, stainless steel fabrication, glass railing systems, cable railing systems, steel planters, shade structures, carports, and other custom metalwork.

This is not a production welding position. Every project is different. We need someone who understands custom fabrication, can work accurately, solve problems, and take pride in producing quality work.

PAY: $18–$25 PER HOUR, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND SKILL LEVEL

Starting pay will be based on actual fabrication ability, welding experience, installation experience, and the ability to work independently.

The higher end of the pay range is reserved for experienced fabricators who can read plans and drawings, accurately lay out and fabricate custom projects, MIG and TIG weld, work with stainless steel, solve problems without constant supervision, and assist with or lead field installations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with custom metal fabrication
• Strong MIG welding skills required

• TIG welding experience required
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop math

• Ability to fabricate from plans, drawings, measurements, and field dimensions
• Experience fitting, tacking, welding, grinding, finishing, and preparing custom metalwork for installation

• Experience using standard metal fabrication tools and equipment
• Willing and able to assist with field installations when needed

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English with supervisors, customers, contractors, and other trades and understand plans, measurements, jobsite instructions, and safety requirements

• Reliable attendance and communication
• Must be able to work independently without constant supervision

• Must take pride in clean welds, accurate fabrication, and quality finished work

WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR:

Someone who only has production welding experience, needs to be taught basic fabrication skills, regularly misses work, disappears without communication, cannot accurately read a tape measure, or needs constant supervision to complete basic fabrication work.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time position.
