POSITION:

We are seeking an experienced and properly licensed residential electrician to perform electrical work on remodeling and renovation projects. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in both newer construction and Philadelphia’s older homes. You must be able to evaluate existing electrical systems, identify problems, recommend safe solutions, and complete work in accordance with applicable electrical codes. You will be responsible for completing residential electrical work from start to finish, coordinating with project managers and other trades, and obtaining permits and inspections when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES (may include):

• Perform residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades
• Install and replace wiring, outlets, switches, fixtures, and devices
• Complete electrical work for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations
• Install recessed lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, and other residential fixtures
• Install dedicated circuits for appliances and mechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and make necessary repairs
• Evaluate existing wiring and identify unsafe or outdated conditions
• Perform panel, breaker, and electrical-service work within the scope of the electrician’s qualifications and licensing
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and electrical diagrams
• Calculate electrical loads and select appropriate wiring, breakers, and equipment
• Pull permits and coordinate required inspections when necessary
• Ensure that all work complies with applicable electrical codes, permit requirements, and safety standards
• Coordinate electrical work with project managers, carpenters, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other trades
• Notify the project manager when unforeseen conditions or additional work may require a change order
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials, permits, and inspections
• Protect customers’ homes and property while work is underway
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Complete assigned work according to project schedules

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Significant professional experience performing residential electrical work
• A valid and active electrical license applicable to the work and jurisdictions served
• Ability to obtain electrical permits and coordinate inspections when required
• Thorough knowledge of residential wiring methods and electrical systems
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and safety requirements
• Experience working in older Philadelphia homes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remodeling team

• Self-motivated, dependable, and organized
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Your own professional electrical tools and testing equipment
• Comfortable driving and working throughout Philadelphia

COMPENSATION & EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS:

• $35–$40 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and employment arrangement
• Full-time, year-round work
• Biweekly pay for employees
