Experienced Service Plumber – Part-Time / On-Call – Austin Area

Looking for an experienced service plumber to handle residential and occasional light-commercial service calls throughout the Austin area.

This is not a traditional 40-hour-per-week position. This is predominantly part-time/on-call work and would be a good fit for an experienced plumber who wants additional work, a flexible schedule, and the opportunity to make good money on individual service calls.

How It Works

As service calls come in, I’ll reach out to you with the details of the job.

We’ll discuss your availability, what the service call involves, and general pricing for the work. If you’re available and we agree on the job, you’ll take the call as a member of our team.

You’ll arrive professionally, diagnose the problem, communicate with the customer, complete the repair properly, and represent yourself and our company well.

You get paid the same day.

Compensation will be a considerable portion of the service call. I’m looking for someone experienced enough to work independently, make good decisions in the field, and handle most service plumbing without supervision.

Requirements

• Experienced in residential service plumbing
• Neat, clean, professional appearance
• Must be able to pass appropriate screening for work inside occupied homes
• Reliable transportation / your own work vehicle
• Your own plumbing tools
• Able to diagnose and complete common plumbing repairs independently
• Dependable and responsive when accepting a call
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Quality workmanship
• Must represent our team professionally while on a service call

Typical Service Calls

Work may include:

• Water heater repairs and replacements
• Toilet repairs and replacements
• Faucet and fixture repairs
• Drain stoppages
• Garbage disposals
• Water leaks and plumbing repairs
• Hose bibbs and exterior plumbing
• General residential plumbing service
• Occasional light-commercial service work

The amount of work will vary. Some weeks may have several opportunities and other weeks may be slower.

There is no expectation that you accept every call.

When a call comes in, I’ll contact you with the details and see if you’re available. If you’re not, no problem. If you take the call, I expect you to show up when promised, take care of the customer, perform quality work, and communicate with me about what was done.

This could be a good arrangement for a plumber who already has a flexible schedule, wants to pick up additional service work, or wants to earn extra money without committing to another full-time position.
