Experienced Spray Booth Painter – Scenic / Custom Fabrication Shop

11th St Workshop is looking for an experienced Spray Booth Painter to join our fabrication team in Jersey City.

We are a custom fabrication shop producing high-end builds for events, retail, experiential activations, pop-ups, and installations. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment and can consistently produce a clean, professional finish.

Responsibilities:

Spray paint fabricated pieces using HVLP/spray equipment

Properly prep surfaces before finishing
Sanding, priming, filling, and finishing
Mix and match paints as needed
Apply high-quality finishes to MDF, plywood, wood, metal, and other materials
Maintain spray guns, equipment, and spray booth
Work with the fabrication and scenic teams to meet production deadlines
Touch-ups and final QC before projects leave the shop

Ideal Candidate:

Previous professional spray booth experience required

Experience with lacquer, water-based, and 2K finishes is a plus
Strong understanding of surface preparation
Comfortable working on high-end finished pieces
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently
Experiential, scenic, millwork, cabinetry, automotive, or similar painting experience is a plus

This is a hands-on shop position. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their finish work and can work well as part of a production team.
