# Experienced Traveling Commercial Audio & Low-Voltage Field Technician

United Media Solutions, the second-largest commercial-audio company in America, is seeking an experienced traveling field technician to install, service and troubleshoot commercial background-music and sound systems throughout the United States.

Our technicians work with amplifiers, speakers, low-voltage wiring, music players and related commercial-audio equipment for major national clients. This is a hands-on field position requiring extensive driving and overnight travel. Applicants must be comfortable working independently, representing the company professionally and remaining on the road for extended assignments.

## Compensation

• **$18 per hour while driving**
• **$22 per hour while performing on-site work**
• Paid travel time
• Overtime available and paid at time and a half in accordance with applicable law
• Full-time W-2 employment

## Travel Schedule

This is a traveling position based out of our Cincinnati office.

Technicians are generally on the road for **7 to 14 days at a time**, followed by approximately **seven days off** before beginning another route. The schedule may vary depending on customer needs and project requirements.

## Primary Responsibilities

• Install and service commercial background-music systems
• Install, connect and replace amplifiers and speakers
• Pull, route, terminate and test low-voltage speaker wiring
• Troubleshoot sound-system and equipment failures
• Install and connect commercial music players
• Perform basic network connections and equipment testing
• Work from ladders and approved lifts when required
• Load, unload, carry and safely handle tools, speakers, amplifiers and other equipment
• Complete job documentation, photographs and service reports
• Communicate with customers, store managers and the United Media Solutions operations team
• Maintain the assigned company van, tools and equipment
• Travel safely between customer locations throughout the United States

## Required Qualifications

• Previous experience with commercial audio, sound systems, low-voltage wiring, structured cabling, electronics or related field-service work
• Working knowledge of amplifiers, speakers and low-voltage installations
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while traveling
• Ability and willingness to remain on the road for 7 to 14 days
• Ability to safely use ladders and work at heights
• Ability to lift and carry commercial-audio equipment and tools
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Reliable, professional and customer-focused attitude
• Ability to communicate regularly with the Cincinnati office
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
• Ability to report to the United Media Solutions Cincinnati office

Experience with basic networking, music players, commercial paging systems, structured cabling, lifts or nationwide field-service work is especially valuable.
